461. Oreo Ganache Tarte

Four ingredients, 10 minutes of hands-on time, and no-bake are what it takes to make this surprisingly classy and incredibly decadent dessert.
Don't be put off by the oreos, I too at first thought "how could anything with oreos be classy?" But I was wrong.
Oreos are ground up with some butter to make a delicious crust, before getting chilled and filled with a dense and rich ganache filling.
Another French Classic dessert.
I found it even better tasting with some slices of banana.
Adapted from the over-the-top Hugs&Kisses.

Ingredients:

280g oreo cookies
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup heavy cream
200g good quality chocolate
1/4 cup butter

Method:

To make the crust: Food process oreos and add the melted butter cookies until the texture of coarse meal or crumbs.
Press into a 4×14 inch fluted rectangular tart pan with a removable bottom.
Press along bottom and up the sides. Use individual mini pans if you don't have this size.
Freeze the crust.
Meanwhile, microwave the cream until hot to the touch.
Add chopped chocolate and butter.
Let sit 5 minutes, then stir until well blended.
Pour ganache into the crust and chill a few hours.
Unmold and serve with whipped cream and sliced bananas.
