590. Zaatar Pita Chips

Boring pita bread is transformed when oven-fried.
This is no recipe; it's a how-to.

Open and cut pita into wedges, brush with oil, bake until golden and crispy. Done.
I, of course, could not resist a sprinkle of zaatar before sending it off to the oven.
Delicious on its own, with a dip, or smeared in lebna.

Ingredients:

Lebanese pita bread
olive oil
zaatar

Method:

Preheat oven to 450F.
Cut the pita into quarters, and each quarter in half to give you eight triangles.
Open each triangle and separate into two halves.
Brush the triangles on the interior (rough and textured) side.
Sprinkle with as much or as little zaatar as you like.
Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.
Let cool and serve accompanying a dip or lebna.
